Challenge: Create Social Media Graphics and prints for UX and Marketing of the Conference.
Process: These social media posts followed the design theme of the year “Ignite” and are a powerful marketing tool to help promote, build brand awareness, and engage with audiences that are interested in design.
The UX team worked within brand guidelines that were created by the design team but freedom was also given to experiment with visuals and copy upon approval. Design techniques such as color theory, typography, and accessibility were utilized in the process. I worked with 5 UX designers and coordinated with the marketing team for the conference. Copies were given 2 weeks before the scheduled post date and tools to create and optimize posts include Figma, photoshop, and Instagram.
Solution: The social media posts met the goals of receiving transactions of an average of 30 likes per post and an average of 100 views per story shown below. They led to increased engagement on the website by increasing the number of tickets being sold after the post was out. All the posts helped build brand awareness and generated interest among the audience for coming to the conference. Areas that could have been improved in the social media strategy would be receiving the copy 1 month ahead to maximize to productivity. Ignited Northeastern and Boston's design community. This year's conference, Inter-ventions: Ignite, drew over 200 attendees from diverse backgrounds, including students from 12 outstanding schools and industry experts flying from different cities.
